Good Morning Folks and a Happy Prep Day to All.
Our friends at the Tzora Vineyards sent out a great photo from the hillsides near Shoresh. Some of you guys have stood right there and seen it in the past. The importance is not just in the photo of the accompanying cluster of grapes just harvested. That is important, but the photo will help a lot of you understand what we mean by the "haze line" over the Mediterranean Sea which is so critical to visibility on most 29 day cycle months.
This one isn't too bad as haze lines go for this time of year. The night of the last crescent sighting was even much better than this one. Please take note of the area where it meets the sea surface. That is an area in which a faint new moon crescent can be seen on some of the 29th day events when it can't be seen earlier in its course down to meet the horizon. Too much residual sunlight and haze many times. Yes, under the haze. Some do not understand this and miss an opportunity.
This is why one needs to be in a place up on the Jerusalem ridge that offers a full view of the sea surface when looking on some 29th day sightings. We have demonstrated this at time in the past as some of you clearly understand but some do not. It is all part of the experiences we have had over the decades in the Land which we share with anyone who wants to access them. It is easy to find the Judean Hill ridge line as it travels across the western edge of the city. Go to google earth and zoom in on it. As the little arrow moves across the surface it is giving the elevation in a small box at the bottom. Using this you can actually draw a line (zigzagging) across the city where you can get this required view of the setting sun and moon.
Hope this is helpful in your evaluating.
Our peace we give to you.
